Error: “Workspace could not be started. Your role does not authorize you to perform this action”

This applies to all versions of Domino.

Issue:

You run into this error when trying to create new workspaces or launch existing workspaces: 

Workspace could not be started. Your role does not authorize you to perform this action

Root Cause:

This error is related to a lack of permissions and usually occurs when a user has not been assigned a Practitioner role in Domino. This is the role required to be able to start and open workspaces as described in our Roles documentation. It’s also possible that it’s the first time the user is accessing Domino or it has been a long time since they last accessed Domino.

Resolution:

Please reach out to your Domino admins and request a Domino account that's configured with the correct role.
