Version:

Issue:
The link to a Domino app is somewhat long and unwieldy, making it awkward to remember and share with your colleagues.
For example...
https://domino.mycompany.com/modelproducts/628d4564b6af415e500dedd1
Additionally this URL changes when the app is republished.
Resolution:
If you're sharing a Domino app with your colleagues, you may want to share a friendly version of the app URL that's descriptive and easy to remember and type. You can use the username/projectname format of the app URL to achieve this. The format is simply
https://<deployment_base_url>/u/<userid>/<projectname>/app
For example, if my company's base URL is domino.mycompany.com, then the link to my colleague
Josh's covid-19 app is:
https://domino.mycompany.com/u/josh/covid-19/app
Or, you can of course still use the version of the URL that appears when you navigate to the app from the Publish UI, which is formatted like this:
https://<domino.mycompany.com>/modelproducts/628d4564b6af415e500dedd1
Both will take you to the same app, but the username/projectname/app version may be more descriptive and friendlier for sharing with users. Note that if you want something other than your username to appears in the username/projectname URL, you can create an organization with a descriptive name, transfer the project to that organization, and republish. Then the organization name would replace your username in the URL.
Notes/Information:
Domino engineering is assessing the feasibility of adding this to a future version of Domino. It does not exist as of Domino v5.6.

One downside of this approach is that the "friendly" URL will redirect automatically to a URL that is specific to the currently running version of your app, which is both less friendly and will change anytime you republish. So, if you want to have colleagues bookmark the App at the "friendly" URL, be sure to have them do so with the URL you provide (the friendly one), rather than going to the app first and bookmarking it after they arrive (the version-specific URL).
