  Here is the documentation that will guide you through creating a PAT for your Git repos.  While creating the PAT in the UI, you will have the option to select read/write permissions you want your PAT to have on that repository.  Disclaimer, I have not had the chance to test read only PAT but that sounds like a reasonable thing to do.

  Once you've created the PAT, you can add it to your Domino account by navigating to your account settings and following the steps outlined in the "Step 2 Add Your Credential to Domino, Option 2 Personal Access Token" section of this page.
