You may have noticed two superuser settings within central config and wondered what these were used for.
Typically set at deployment, the Superuser’s API key is used for interactions between Domino components. Contact your Domino representative if you need assistance.

The superuser in Domino is used for service to service communication between Domino microservices. It has some elevated privileges in order to perform these tasks:
- all the permissions of a SysAdmin
- all the permissions of a Practitioner (no explicit product permissions, just the ability to write files to projects and use global compute = start executions)
Note that the superuser is not intended to be used outside of the context of inter service communication. The values are set at deployment and should not be changed.
