Version/Environment (if relevant):
This applies to versions 4.x thru 5.5.x which is the latest version as of this article.
Issue:
Users and Admins may be curious what hardware their code will execute on.
Resolution:
You get to pick!
In cloud-based environments, you choose your hardware from any of the standard instance types available. For example if you are AWS-based see EC2 instance types. Changing the hardware for your workspace/job/app is as easy as choosing from a menu.
On-Premise environments run on your network, so you can use whatever hardware you have available.
Information:
The underlying hardware is driven through our Hardware Tier feature which your Admins will create for you. Hardware Tiers determine the resources available for workspace/job/app and the node instance type on which it must run, this is described at https://docs.dominodatalab.com/en/latest/admin_guide/9d16e5/create-a-hardware-tier/
