Model API Deployment Failed

Issue:

User unable to deploy his R code using Model API. When starting the model version status kept changing from pending to terminated with Crash loop then 'deployment failed'.  R code can be run local successfully. Below syntax error was logged in the instance logs repeatly, 

/domino/model-manager/launch: 20: /home/ubuntu/.domino-defaults: Syntax error: "(" unexpected (expecting ")")

Solution:

The compute environment user was using was built off an existing 5.1 Spark Compute Environment. After switch the compute environment to Domino Analytics Distribution Py3.8 R4.0 2021Q1 the model API started successfully.
